Gov Ganduje Signed Mutual Accountability Framework Document With FCDO Nigeria
Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth Development Office, Nigeria with Dr. Christopher Pycroft as the team lead, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of Kano State Mutual Accountability document (KanoMAF).
The signing of the MoU is one of the key strategies to perfect plans for better implementation of the document following Strategic Dialogue between Kano state Government and the FCDO.
The event took place at Dawakin Tofa Model Primary school, in the presence of some top government functionaries, FCDO team and an array of other development partners.
The document’s areas of interest are Human and Capital Development, which consists of health and education sectors, governance/social protection and sustainable economic transformation.
Other requisite part for the implementation of the document, according to the strategy dialogue, is Monitoring and Evaluation.
During the dialogue session, there was open and frank discussions, particularly during the technical sessions, that were aimed at identifying constraints and windows of opportunities on how best the FCDO could support the state in addressing them.
The FCDO, as observed by Dr Pycroft, “aim to leave this meeting with a clear sense of the scope of our cooperation and how we can hold each other mutually accountable in the coming months and years ahead.”
